One calm evening I went on a walk,
Where I met a mouse that could talk,
It was dark and ugly,
But, very madly happy
I asked the happy mouse, how the animals in its kingdom were
Thereby starting the conversation giving me a nightmare
The mouse started reciting the beauty of its world
Which I listened comparing with our world
I reluctantly listened to the little rodent,
Which I then believed was far more behind us, which is evident
It said - "We respect everyone young and old,
Giving us happiness as good as gold,
We do not create enemies from our siblings,
Hatred, jealousy, disrespect and hard hardheartedness are not our feelings
Hence, our beautiful world is an ocean,
Of love, ecstasy and compassion,
This is the reason for my happiness and satisfaction
I always thank God for being born here, regardless of any explanation"
It jubilantly went away into its hole,
Leaving me thinking of 'our society' on the whole
We do not have any of their feelings at our mercy
Man's attitude, his greed, his menace has made the world messy
Children, youth and age of middle and old
Are not spared from the evils of our world
Female Infanticide, dowry, corruption
Black money, injustice, murder and misconception
Does the human society have any worth at all?
Only for namesake are we the king of all?
We keep brooding that ugly physical appearance (like that of rodent) brings disgrace,
But will ugliest inner appearance (like that of ours) bring grace ?
I kept praying all through the walk,
That our society may change and not just talk,
And let all live happily regardless of age and gender,
Else, I wish to be born in that 'useless animal society' far more greater..!!
